SURABAYA – BPMIGAS East Java, Papua and Maluku Representative Office and production sharing contractros in the Papua-Maluku area recently presented a Study House for the community in Sorong, Papua.
 
The Study House pioneered by Sorong Oil and Gas Empowerment Group - BPMIGAS Japalu isn't only a part of a community development program, but a commitment of contractors' managements. The house is expected to be a facilitator, stimulator and integrator to realize the empowerment of communities surrounding oil and gas operations.
 
The Study House was inaugurated by Sorong Mayor Drs. J. A. Jumame, MM, on Wednesday (06/25).
 
Jumame expressed his happiness, support and hopes that the Study House can resolve some problems in Papua, namely poverty, slower growth, and lack of education, in his speech. The Mayor also thanked BPMIGAS-Japalu contractors in expanding knowledge for the progress of Papuans, particularly in Sorong.
 
The Study House, comparising a Reading Space and Training Center is intended to be an integrated information centre in Sorong and move students and the general public to boost their potentials in a nationalistic spirit. The facility is targeted to be a research centre and education centre. ***
