INDONESIA IS NOT A RICH OIL COUNTRY ANYMORE: NEED A SUPPORT FOR EXPLORATION

BALIKAPAPAN – It is proven that oil reserves is limited. Therefore, each party is required to support the upstream oil and gas exploration activities, so the reserves can be improved evidently and people of Indonesia get the certainty of reserves to meet the needs of the community, especially in the future.

"Currently, Indonesia is not a rich oil country anymore, as evidenced; at this time we owe each day because the needs of fuel oil is greater than production. So this shortage is not getting worse, we should economize energy, and substitute the energy to continue the exploration activities in order to perform, so that the reserves can be improved, "said Chief Representative Kalsul, Agus Suryono when opening the Socialization of Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities to the Stakeholders BPMIGAS region Kalimantan and Sulawesi conducted in Balikpapan on Thursday (23 / 4).

In Indonesia there are 203 oil and gas working areas which have managed by PSC’s. As many as 54 are in the region of Kalimantan and Sulawesi, where some of them are doing exploration in western Sulawesi.
