5 DOMESTIC GAS CONTRACTS ARE SIGNED

JAKARTA - Upstream Oil and Gas Supervisory Agency (BPMIGAS), on Tuesday (5 / 5) attend the signing of gas purchase and sale agreement. The total number of gas purchase and sale agreement which was held at the Forum Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) in 2009 are five (5) contracts, consisting of one (1) Amendments & HOA Statement, and 4 (four) PJBG. The entire contract are estimated will open a new opportunities for 1200 employment.

Amendments Agreement and re-statement of Head of Agreement are signed by Total E & P Indonesie with electrical Perusda and Kutai Kartanegara Resources and Energy. The Contract that is agreed will be going on for 20 years with 146 TBTU contract volumes, it will be intended to support the operations of IPP Senipah power plant, East Kalimantan.

The other 4 (four) Gas Purchase and Sales Agreements (PJBG) with the total of US$ 675 million will be signed by PT Pertamina EP, with the details:
Gas Purchase and Sale Agreement between PT Pertamina EP and PT Pertamina (Persero) is intended to meet the needs of Kilang Refinery Unit VI Balongan. The gas will be taken from the operation area of PT Pertamina EP West Java Region. The total is 95.25 TBTU, and will be distributed for 10 years.

Gas Purchase and Sale Agreement between PT Pertamina EP with PT Pertamina (Persero) is intended for the fuel pumping from the main transit Balongan terminal to Plumpang fuel depot. The gas will be taken from the operation area of PT Pertamina EP West Java Region. Contract agreement with the 2.76 TBTUof volumes will be going on for 10 years.

Gas Purchase and Sale Agreement between PT Pertamina EP with PT Pertamina (Persero) is intended to meet the needs of Pangkalan Brandan LPG, North Sumatra. The gas will be taken from the operation area of TAC Glagah Kambuna. The agreement with the 8.03 TBTU of volumes will be going on for 4 years.

Gas Purchase and Sell Agreement between PT Pertamina EP and PT Pertiwi Nusantara Resources is intended to meet the needs of industrial in North Sumatra. The gas will be taken from the operation area of TAC Glagah Kambuna. The agreement with the 26.64 TBTU of volumes will be going on for 8 years.

All of the gas purchase and sale agreement is intended to meet the needs of power and industry. Some of the signed contract is a new agreement and a part of the HoA extension and amendment contract. In accordance with the commitment, domestic gas supply will become BPMIGAS’s priority.

The development of gas volume for the domestic in recent years is rapidly developed. At this time, the gas for the domestic demand is reached 62 percent, while the gas for export is 38 percent. As a note, before 2002, the composition of the gas is 72 percent for the export and 28 percent for the domestic.
